It works by blocking the enzyme 5-alpha reductase, which converts testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT) — the main cause of hair loss and enlarged prostate.
Used to treat:
Male pattern baldness (Androgenetic alopecia)
Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)
How to use:
Take as directed by your doctor
Usually, 1 mg daily for hair loss
5 mg daily for enlarged prostate
Must be taken continuously for at least 3–6 months to see clear results
Precautions:
For men only; pregnant women should avoid direct contact with the medication
Possible side effects include reduced libido and ejaculation problems
Report any unusual symptoms to your doctor immediately
