A broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotic that kills various types of bacteria.
It works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, preventing bacteria from growing and causing their death.
Used to treat bacterial infections such as:
Respiratory tract infections like sinusitis, bronchitis, pneumonia
Urinary tract infections
Skin and soft tissue infections
Oral infections such as tooth decay and dental abscess
Other infections as prescribed by a doctor
How to use:
Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor
Usually taken 2-3 times a day after meals to reduce stomach irritation
Complete the full course even if symptoms improve
Precautions:
Avoid if allergic to penicillin or cephalosporins
May cause allergic reactions such as rash, itching, swelling — stop use and see a doctor immediately if these occur
Possible side effects include diarrhea, nausea, or stomach pain
